Dry Eye Exam, Kildeer & Elgin, IL
At our dry eye center, we specialize in diagnosing and treating dry eye syndrome. With two convenient locations in Elgin and Kildeer, Illinois, our experienced eye doctors are dedicated to helping patients find relief from the uncomfortable symptoms of dry eye.
Dry eye syndrome is a common condition that occurs when the eyes are unable to produce enough tears or when the tears evaporate too quickly. This condition can lead to a range of symptoms, including redness, itching, burning, and sensitivity to light. Left untreated, dry eye can also lead to damage to the surface of the eye and vision problems.
Diagnosing dry eye syndrome
Our doctors offer comprehensive eye exams in Kildeer and Elgin to rule out another ocular surface disease and assess your dry eye symptoms. In addition to their years of experience in diagnosing dry eyes, our doctors use advanced technology to assist in their diagnosis.
LipiScan
As a part of your dry eye evaluation, we take images of the meibomian glands in your eyelids. It’s a quick and noninvasive scan that helps our doctors assess the quality of the gland structure. Additionally, our doctor will check how well the glands are functioning to determine the best treatment method for your eyes.
Tear osmolarity testing
During your visit to the dry eye center at Quality Eye Care Clinic, we use the TearLab Osmolarity Test Card to collect a tiny amount of tear fluid directly from the eyelid margins. We then use the TearLab Osmolarity System to quickly and easily determine your tear osmolarity (or the salt content of your tears).
The osmolarity score is a critical sign of dry eye syndrome. People with dry eye syndrome have a higher osmolarity score compared to those who don’t. The TearLab Osmolarity System helps our doctors diagnose dry eye by providing a quantitative numerical value.
Treatment for dry eye syndrome
We offer several dry eye treatment options at our dry eye center. These range from supplements and dietary changes to prescription medications.
There are some new in-office procedures available for patients dealing with dry eyes or blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids). These procedures allow us to play an active role in preventing the risk of dry eye and blepharitis, as part of a healthy lifestyle. Visit our dry eye spa to look at our wide range of rejuvenation and dry eye treatment options or browse our online store for dry eye products.

Dr. Manal is extremely professional and knowledgeable. She and her team are pleasant and amazing to work with. I highly recommend visiting her office for your next eye exam or if you are having issues with dry eyes!!!
Dr. Hajali is a great doctor. She does a very thorough exam and you can tell she really does care that you get whatever help you need with your eyes. She helped me with dry eyes, but also quite dramatically with my floaters, which are notoriously difficult to deal with. Her staff is fantastic as well, very respectful. I recommend quality eve care clinic to anyone looking for great service and a caring doctor who really listens and wants to help.
Excellent service, I never knew I had severe dry eye until it was properly explained to me.
Finally I am on the road to recovery. I feel so much happier after so many years of having discomfort and no solutions. Thank you QeyeC for taking care of me!
Dr. Alam is a great optometrist!! She is helping me with my Dry Eye this year, which has been affecting my vision. She is very knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend her service, thank you!
The care here was great, I never have to wait long to see the doctor. I appreciate how they always take one step further in my eye care. They take the time to help me choose the frames that I want and order eye contacts for me to. They saw how I was struggling with dry eyes and how much that was effecting my overall eye health and was given a great treatment plan, 2 months later I’m already feeling the relief in my eyes.
I had a great experience using Quality Eye Care for the first time. Everything was professional from check in, eye exam and treatment options for dry eyes to selection of new glasses. Dr. Hajali did a complete eye exam and thoroughly went over causes and treatments for my dry, irritated eyes. They also worked with my insurance plan. I wil definitely be back.
I have been at QEC twice. Both times I have had a great experience! Dr. Hajali is so knowledgeable! She diagnosed my dry eyes, implemented a treatment and treatment plan right away. She explains everything very thorough and left feeling very confident about my eye health. Highly recommend
