Dr. Phillip Kaltenthaler is a board certified optometrist dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered eye care. He earned his Doctor of Optometry from Midwestern University after completing his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Akron. Throughout his clinical training, Dr. Kaltenthaler gained experience in primary care optometry, ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, binocular vision, pediatrics, and low vision. His clinical rotations included Midwestern University, the Brownsburg VA Medical Center, and several private practices, where he developed experience managing a wide range of ocular conditions and patient needs.
His clinical experience has allowed him to develop skills in comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens fittings, ocular disease management, dry eye evaluation and treatment, and patient education. He values taking the time to understand each patient’s concerns and providing care that supports their long-term vision and ocular health.
Dr. Kaltenthaler is passionate about caring for patients of all ages and helping them maintain healthy vision throughout their lives. He is committed to continuing his professional education and staying current with developments in eye care. Outside of his professional interests, he enjoys spending time with family, working out, golfing, watching sports, and trying new foods.

My needs were specifically: • Diabetic Retinal Exam – Which was performed using newer equipment than I am used to. The bill was sent to my Health Insurance, and results communicated to my doctor. I liked that. • Eye Drop Refill – Promptly called into my pharmacist. • Yearly eye exam – Which I thought went very well. There was no wait for the doctor, the exam was quick, but very thorough, even double checking my pressers. I appreciated this detail. • New prescription and glasses - The team was very pleasant and caring during this process. They listened to all my needs and requests. They went above and beyond to find a pair of glasses that matched my preferences, face and budget. • Eye Insurance - The bill for my eye exam and glasses was sent to my eye insurance company. I like that they took both of my insurances. • New Glasses – Well, I can tell you that I have never had such a great fitting and spot on prescription before. No adjustments had to be made! Not only that but they made sure to make time for me to come back and keep an eye on my progress. Once I was back to normal the went the extra step to insure I didn’t have any more issues in the future by making sure I was aware of the preventative measures and steps. I was struggling with severe dry eyes since 2022 to 2024. I started seeing Dr Hajali in April 2024, she is amazing. She had managed my dry eyes to the point they are very comfortable now. I do prefer the Kildeer location for me because it is easier to get appointments. Doc. Hajali is very professional, very thorough with my check ups and only recommends what is necessary. My kids love coming here and feel very comfortable with her and the receptionist/fitter. He is also very knowledgeable when explaining the different options available for the lenses. I came here when the year started and have never had a better eye exam. I felt comfortable, at home, and the staff treated me with such kindness and patience. I could not recommend QeyeC enough!! You can truly feel that she makes a meaningful difference in the lives of her patients. What makes Dr. Hajali and her staff even more remarkable is what happened to me when I was out of town. After experiencing a slip and fall and noticing floaters in my vision, I felt uneasy and didn’t know what to do. I called her office on a Saturday, and she went completely out of her way to guide me, explaining where I needed to go and ensure I receive proper care.That level of dedication is incredibly rare.
